FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q Why encoding charge is high to RFID Tags in small size?

A Due to the small size, it is easily to read and write misalignment which causes production speed is not as fast as normal. Therefore, production cost is relatively high.
  • Q How to deal with special encoding?

A Please offer detailed encoding specification, several samples are preferred. Several samples will be offered by us for testing. In the meantime, JYL-Tech will keep a few samples as official order reference. Production will only be proceeded after got your confirmation.
  • Q How to deal with the rejected tag?

    A Replacement and black block.
Replacement cost is much higher than black block, and low speed due to it’s a manual process. Therefore, black block is recommended.
  • Q What is the minimum and maximum size of RFID UHF inlay?

A * The minimum size of Al etching UHF RFID antenna is about 5x5mm, the reading range is limited in 10cm around. For industrial application RF4, PI, ceramics, the size could shrink to minimum size at 2x2x5mm with about 10cm reading distance, cost is 10 times more. The most cost-effective Al etching UHF antenna by size around 22x10mm by up to 1m reading range.

    * The maximum passive RFID UHF inlay can be 150x50mm around, however the performance will no better than size 100x30mm, to the contrary, the performance will not stable caused by interference from the elements nearby according to on site testing.
It’s better to avoid too big or too small size inlay for better prices, the most popular inlay sizes are 40x15, 30x50, 70x14mm.
  • Q How to inspect Web RFID Tag?

A By using Tagsurance online inspection equipment, and artificial visual inspection. The optical visual checking line will be used when quantity reaches 5m.
  • Q What is the minimum and maximum size of RFID NFC/HF inlay?

A NFC/HF RFID antenna usually is made of Al etching, Cu etching usually. Please note, the finished tag size must 1.5mm bigger than the antenna on each side.

    * Etching Aluminum antenna, minimum size at Dia. 13mm, 8x18mm and 15x15mm.
    * Smallest dimension of Cu etching antenna is 5x5mm, triple cost compares to Al etching, very harmful to the environment in production.

The maximum size of NFC/HF antenna is 45x76mm usually use as CR80 contactless card inlay, and any size bigger than it will not increase the reading performance notably.
  • Q What are RFID Label packaging precautions?

A RFID dry inlay requires 2 line paper tap protection on each side, packed with dry inlay, to protect RFID chip from crush damage.

RFID labels typically use a 3-inch roll core, and the OD is less than 210 mm.

Both packed by an anti-static bag with vacuum applied.

Custom package can be offered as well.
  • Q What are antenna materials and their features?

A Antenna materials: Al etching, Cu etching, Silver printing, Graphene printing and other electronic material printing . Key features are as follows:

    * Al etching: Lowest price for mass production when quantity over 100k pieces. But Al etching antenna production causes pollution, and the PET substrate might cause some troubles in EU area from 2021 especially in huge projects.

    * Copper etching: Better performance but much higher cost and will lead to serious pollution-causing in production. It almost disappeared from last decade and keep a limited in global market except high performance required industrial applications.

    * Electronic printing antenna seems to be a good solution in coming years by Graphene and Ag or some new e-materials. It gets rid of plastic substrate with paper or green as substitute. Furthermore, it makes RFID as temper proof tag much easier.
  • Q What are RFID Label storage requirements?

A RFID label needs to be stored at 10℃ ~ 30℃, and RH20-60% environment, with anti-static bag sealed. They can be stored for one year in such environment.
  • Q What are standard substrate materials and their features?

A RFID substrate materials usually by PET and PI, paper and fabric. They are good for etching process with great chemical resistant performance and ideal hot-shrinkage rate. With E-printing circuit antenna, the substrate come to paper and some high-density fabric or textile which are easy to find.

    * PET: Most popular substrate which is steady and cheap, limited shrinkage and deformation during thermosetting solid process in FLIP bonding.

    * Paper: Both printing antenna and die-cutting Al antenna usually use paper substrate. It is eco-friendly and tamper proof. Disadvantage includes fragile and water absorption.

    * PI: Suitable for both Al etching and Cu etching. It is with outstanding performance, steady, heat-resistant, and chemical-resistant. However, its price is high.

    * Fabric: Mainly used for silver, graphene and other new e-materials printing antennas. Its disadvantage includes antenna is easily broken.
